Changes to Riddor
Added: 06.06.2012  16:14:25

From 6th April 2012 requirements under the Reporting of Injuries,Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations have changed. Previously if a person was incapacitated for more than 3 days after an injury at work then a report had to made to the HSE. That requirement has changed to more than 7 days (not counting the days on which the accident happened).

Incapacitation means that the worker is absent or unable to do the full range of their normal duties. Employers have to report within 15 days of the incident occurring.More information and details on how to report an incident are at ww.hse.gov.uk/riddor/reporting.change.htm.

This change does not apply to Northern Ireland. It is thought that legislation there will be amended in April 2013
